On behalf of Battlefields Council I am pleased to announce the appointment of Rob Shoup as Deputy Council Commissioner- Program, effective immediately.

Rob first started in scouting in 2002 as a parent volunteer when his kids registered. He then took the leap and became a Troop Scouter with 1st Waterford Scout Group in 2004. He holds a Woodbadge 1 and 2 in Company and is also a Woodbadge trainer. In 2015, Rob jumped on board as Battlefields Volunteer Development Training team. He is currently a Pack Scouter with the 75th Hamilton Scout Group and also a factor at Camp Nemo Scout Camp. In addition Rob can be found volunteering at the Hamilton Scout Shop on Thursday evenings and on Saturdays. He played a key part in helping renovate the store, putting in over 400 hours during the summer of 2017 helping paint, tear down shingles and remodel the store to what it is today. He is has been a part of the Canadian Path Support team and has helped Scouters throughout Battlefields Council get more acquainted with the different elements of the Canadian Path. Rob has helped with the coordination of events such as Vic Day camporee, Cub Fun Day, Llama Moot and many others.

Rob is taking over from Dan Tapley who has accepted a role within Brant Area. Please join us in welcoming Rob to his new position; he can be reached at rob.shoup@scouts.ca
